With all the commotion surrounding the Focus On The Family ad starring Tim Tebow and his mother Pam coming into last night’s Super Bowl, outspoken critics were hit with a reality check when the short spot finally aired.
Groups and activists (especially those with pro-abortion ties) had called for widespread protests and had urged CBS to refrain from airing the ad citing that the ad (which they had not seen) demeans women and was ‘full of hatred’.
The advertisement made absolutely no mention of abortion or even the difficulties of Pam’s pregnancy with Tim. Pam Tebow simply discussed the importance of family and that they’ve personally endured struggles over the years.
Perhaps this should be a reminder for some not to over-react to something based only on expectations and assumptions. Personally, I think we could use a lot more people like the Tebows in this world.
